Today was our first full day of vacation and we were in Seattle. We started out downtown at a coffee shop called Espresso Vivace Roasteria ( Jerod loves drinking coffee and according to this coffee house was highest ranked in Seattle. It was good. We will try out other places in town and let you know what we make of them.

After coffee, we headed over toward Olympic Sculpture Park that is located on the coast of the Pacific ( We hung out there for awhile and took in the beautiful Seattle coast and it’s rugged mountains in the distance. What a gorgeous city!

After Olympic Sculpture Park, we ate lunch at Anthony’s on Pier 66 with a friend from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida named Dylan. We had fish and chips as we sat on the bay. It was good to see Dylan and catch up.

Mars Hill had a service at 5pm and we managed to make it over that way. The experience was simple and good.  Mark Driscoll was not there, but a man named Jaime preached instead.  The sermon was based on Romans 12:1-8.

After church we headed over to the Seattle Center where the Space Needle is located ( We didn’t actually go up into the Needle, but we did check it out. It was cool.

For the sunset, Jerod and I went to Discovery Park ( It was very relaxing and picturesque.

Tomorrow we are going to the San Juan Islands to go whale watching ( I hope we get to see some lovely orca whales along with other wildlife. Check back in the next few days for another update.
