Almost half way there!

So Little Moon is 19 weeks today. Here is the latest scoop on the baby 🙂

Little Moon’s sensory development is exploding! The brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that Little Moon may be able to hear now, so if you see April in the next 20 weeks or so, don’t be shy to say hello or sing a happy tune to Little Moon!

Little Moon is getting huge! He or she weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. The arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of the body now. The kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on Little Moon’s scalp is sprouting. 🙂 A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on the skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Little Moon is the size of an heirloom tomato this week!
