CUB notes

09Feb08

Here’s a couple stories from the kids we work with at Church Under the Bridge (CUB). April and I work with a small group of kids there. CUB is church for the homeless of the city of Austin, though some people who are not homeless have made this the primary place of fellowship for their families.

It was started by an organization called Mission Possible.

I have noticed some kids a growing and understanding things more and more, but sometimes they still get a little confused.

1.
Question from a CUB teacher
: Who is Jesus?
Answer from one of the kids: Jesus is the one who killed himself for our country.
–Is that what American Christianity is getting across to our children?

2.From a study of the life of Paul – review from the previous week.
Q:
Who is Saul? Does anyone remember who Saul is?
A: I like Saw 2 and Saw 3, but I didn’t like Saw number 1

–Still got some work to do I guess.
